On the paper, it's gonna be easiest if you write down all your zones, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, how many zones you have. What's on each zone, whether it's 4, this is a front door, my Zone 2 is a motion, and then the zone definition and type that you plan on using. There's several different types of definitions, 01, for example, is an entry-exit door that will give me an entry-exit delay when I come and leave, I can come in and out that door.
It's typically used for motion detectors when your system is armed in away mode, your motion detector will be armed, it will go off instantly. If your home and your system is armed in the stay mode, your motion detector will be bypassed. That way you walk into the kitchen, or you walk through your living room, you get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, you're not setting off your system when you walk in front of your motion detector. In stay mode, your motion detectors are the only things that's bypassed.
Your doors, windows, glass, breaks, smoke detectors, all those will be armed and active. So when you're in stay mode the only thing affected is usually anything that set has 05 which typically is just motion detectors. Also on this piece of paper, you'd want to put down the delay time that you would want for your entry and exit, which this in case I wrote my entry time first, I want 30 seconds and I want 60 seconds when I leave.
And then also a code that I plan on using as my master code so that I'm not using the default If you've got a quick start guide, you can follow along. This first part what I'm gonna do is step one in the quick start guide is gonna be setting your date and time. I usually just typically just hit one which is set date and time, all right?
Time is military time, two digit hour, two digit minute, two digit month, two digit day, two digit year. I'll just put in a random time in there. If you get it wrong you come back to this section here, you can just hit one. You will enter into programming section and make sure 8 is on by pressing 8.
Then enter the once to save and enter into zone 4 programming by entering Programming Section and turn 8 on by entering 8. Then press to save and exit that section.
Note: if you see other toggle options on, just ignore the other options and only worry about what is being said on this guide. If the devices are in front of you, you will take the magnet small piece away from the transmitter bigger piece and put back together.
You cannot place any wireless device on a zone set that is shared with any hardwired zone. If you have only four 4 hardwired zones, you would use zones and then you can begin your wireless on zone 9 which is on a different set of 8 zones.
You must keep your wireless zones somewhere in the first 32 zones. To enroll a wireless device, you must open, close, or tamper the device while the keypad says wireless enrollment mode.
The panel will ask to confirm the ESN number. The display will then be ready to enroll the next device. When you are ready to enroll your motion sensors, you will then put the battery in the. The light on the sensor will flash for one minute. Once the light finishes flashing, then you want to move the motion around or wave your hand in front of it to trigger it. This will send the ESN number to the panel. After enrolling the motion sensor, place it face down so it cannot be accidentally triggered again during enrollment.
FYI : Before exiting, if you are also programming a key fob, you will press and hold the arm and disarm buttons until the control panel asks you to verify the ESN Number. After you have enrolled and confirmed each device hit to exit.
This will give you time to exit your premises before the system arms and will also give you an entry delay when you enter You must enter through a door that is on a delayed entry. You will enter into programming by pressing. Programming Section will allow us to change the delay times. We want our Sample Alarm for demonstration purposes to have 30 second delays for entry and exit. Below are additional sections you need to go into:.
Press to change your installer code from the default setting of This code is only used to get into programming and nothing else. This code is what you use to arm and disarm the system with.
You can also create additional user codes with this code. Skip this step if you are not using the PGM outputs for your smoke detectors. After the last digit in the section is entered, the keypad will beep rapidly 5 times and exit the program section.
For sections that do not require data for every box such as phone numbers press the [ ] key to exit the program section after entering all. At any time the [ ] can be pressed to exit any program section.
All changes made up to that point will be saved. HEX or hexadecimal digits are sometimes required. Refer to the chart below and press the number corresponding to the HEX digit required.
