I am thinking that my problems with my Video drivers are linked somehow to this Video Controller. I am looking for some help getting Call of Duty to run on my Inspiron The Video Controller should be fine, and I have no explanation for why the video driver will not install.

Try removing the listed Video Controller from the Device Manager, and then reboot your system, and run the installer for the ATi driver. If that does not work, see if you can extract the ATi drivers, and then from the Device Manager try updating the driver for the Video Controller.

I tried the steps as you suggested but unfortunately, this did not work either. I am able to install the drivers, but when I attempt to change the display settings or reboot the OS after installing the driver, I consistently get the following error message:. Even using non-Dell drivers like the Omega ones and non-modded ATI Catalyst drivers and using the patje tool to mod the driver does not work either: the message 'INF error, vide driver not found' continues to appear.

The error message shows that the problem is caused by the video driver. Unfortunately, if that does not work, then it may be Windows corruption, and the Operating System may need to be reinstalled. I have tried the following with no success:.

Removed driver from device manager and Installed updated driver from dell would not restart after installation.

Re-Formated hard drive and reinstalled windows ME, then Installed driver tried both original and updated drivers, would not restart after installation. Re-Formated hard drive and installed windows XP professional installed latest driver from dell website, would not restart outside of safe mode. What else is there to do? I am starting to think that the actual video card is junk, is this possible?

The only way to get windows to work is to put my old GeForce 2 mx in, then boot. But i can boot into safemode with the radeon, its like when windows tries to install the drivers for the radeon, they crash windows. I could install and boot server with my GF2 mx I've tried installing the latest drivers in safe mode, but I get an INF install error, which tells me to install standard VGA drivers first. I've tried everything I can think of, please help.
